Sunrise Violin is a specialist company in the sale, tonal adjustment and restoration of European fine and antique violins. We serve leading musicians, collectors and arts institutions around the world, and we also work with conservatories and with advanced violin students.
Based in Shanghai, we have spent more than a decade preserving and extending the artistic life of European instruments.
Sales and appraisal
A rare collection. We hold instruments by important European makers of the 16th–19th centuries, and many of them were once owned by celebrated performers. Through close collaboration with professors at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and with renowned American violinists, every instrument is examined against the highest artistic standards and tested for its utmost performing potential.
Instrument–musician matching. According to the individual style, technique and artistic ambition of each player, we offer a professional matching service that pairs the right instrument with the right musician.
Restoration and tonal adjustment
Master-level restoration. Restoration plans are regularly drawn up in consultation with our partner professors and performers, so that an instrument keeps its historical integrity while its acoustic potential is fully realised.
Artist-level adjustment and acoustic optimisation. Our adjustment work is directly informed by the deep aesthetics of the Viennese school and by the cutting-edge tonal ideals of today’s outstanding players.
