He probably arrived in Naples sometime before taking up violin making, but the circumstances surrounding the move are unclear. It is likely that Eberle studied with Nicolò Gagliano , though there are also resemblances in his work to that of other members of the Gagliano family, especially Gennaro . In any case, the details of craftsmanship in Eberle's work are noticeably different from his teacher's: f-holes are less fluid and scrolls are more refined. Read Less
