Biography

Giacomo and Leandrino (Leandro Junior) Bisiach were the two youngest of Leandro Bisiach Sr.'s four sons — their brothers Carlo and Andrea also worked in the family trade, and all four are pictured together with their father and Igino Sderci in a well-known 1921 photograph of the Milan workshop. Much of their own training in ...Read More making and restoration came from Giuseppe Ornati rather than from their father directly. Working together in the family business, largely as dealers and restorers whose stock was made "in the white" by employed craftsmen and finished under their own supervision, they retired in 1973. Giuseppe Stefanini became their principal collaborator through the 1950s and 60s, taking over that role from Igino Sderci and producing the majority of their best-known postwar instruments.
