A violin by Ladislav F. Prokop, made in Chrudim, Czechoslovakia, in 1940. Prokop is one of the leading Czech makers of the mid-20th century, working on Stradivari and Guarneri models with fine craftsmanship and carefully selected tonewoods. Warm, rich and even in all registers – equally at home in solo and chamber repertoire.
