A violin made in Shanghai in 2008 by Zhang Li, one of the very few makers in the Chinese violin industry to hold a technical invention patent. Where most of the trade focuses on wood, varnish and model data, Zhang Li introduced precision measurement into the traditional hand-making process. He is a leading authority in China on both making and voicing (including wolf-note removal) and has restored and voiced fine and old instruments for the concertmaster of the Metropolitan Opera, Prof. David Fruhwirth (Head of Strings, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna) and many other internationally known players. His instruments are highly collectable.
